As we move away from the height of the pandemic we’re beginning to see wedding trends evolve more quickly. Weddings of 2020 – 2022 were a melting pot of trends from all three years coming together. This year we’re seeing couple’s gravitate towards a weekend-long celebration where they can spend more time with their family and friends. Keep reading for the trends to watch for your North Carolina wedding.

Multi-Day Weddings

Glamping and Multi-Day weddings are here to stay and we couldn’t be happier. Why have your friends and family stay in a hotel room block when you could all be on the same property for a whole weekend? If you book a venue like Paint Rock Farm in Hot Springs, you can have your friends and family stay in their on-site cabins or have The Pop-Up BnB provide a tent village that your guests will be raving about for years to come!

Luxury Micro-Weddings

Gone are the days of putting on extravagant events for hundreds of people you may or may not know. Post-Covid couples are valuing what is important and planning spectacular events for the people closest to them. Magnolia House is the perfect venue for destination micro-weddings in North Carolina. The historic home and additional accommodations allow for your whole family to stay on-site so that you can soak in the weekend surrounded by the natural beauty of Hot Springs.

Unique Reception Entertainment

Everyone loves a great DJ or Band but have you considered other entertainment options for guests who don’t dance? Over the past few years we’ve seen so many variations of photo booths for guests to snap a picture and leave a note for the couple, they’re almost a staple at weddings at this point. This year we’re going to see some more unique vendors from caricature artists to tarot card readers. Your guests won’t be disappointed when you jump on this trend!

Mismatched Wedding Party Attire

Let’s face it, everyone in your wedding party isn’t going to have the same body type, skin tone, or hair color. This year we’ll be seeing a lot more mismatched wedding parties. Whether you go with a color palette or have all your ladies in floral sundresses, your photos will be stunning and your wedding party will be thanking you for allowing them to find an outfit that they feel comfortable in.

Going Green

Sustainability is (and always has been) cool. Couples are more concerned about their environmental footprint than they have been in the past. This year you’ll see less disposable items like cups and plates and more rental, reusable items. Instead of streamers you’ll see biodegradable confetti or dried flowers for grand exits. While planning out the little details of your wedding day try taking a step back and see what items you can swap out for rentals.

At the end of the day it’s important to do what best represents you and your soon-to-be spouse! We love creating unconventional, bespoke wedding celebrations for our couples that they’ll cherish for years to come. I can’t wait to see our couple incorporate some of these trends into their weddings this year! If you feel like you need some help incorporating these trends into your special day (or weekend), Kathryn Rose Event Company is here to help! We are located in Western North Carolina, West Virginia, and LOVE destination weddings. Contact us to get started planning the best day of your life!
